Requested to move to a different home

1940 September

Created by Anna 3 years ago

As the self-professed ringleader of the children, Ann asked to be moved to a different home after three months with the Nicholls'. She recalled that she did not like living with servants (there was a cook, parlour maid, chamber maid and a kitchen maid, and it was only the last of these that Ann liked) and that she had often been hungry,

She was moved to Church Villas in Belbroughton to live with Mr and Mrs Charlton and their daughter Harriet, who was known to Ann as Bebe.

She lived with the Charltons for over three years and they later took in Ann's brother Raymond as well.
